I-Team’s Report on the Aging Eagles
The News4 I-Team has found out what we’ve known all along. The USPP helicopters that all of metro DC depends on are aging and need replacing NOW! Due to the complicated air space over DC, the USPP Eagles are the best solution for medivacs and law enforcement.
The News4 I-Team found that a 2012 analysis recommended replacing Park Police aircraft after 5,000 hours of operation. But Eagle 2 has flown more than 9,300 hours and is about 26 years old.
Bill Alton
A sad announcement today, retired Officer Bill Alton lost his fight with cancer. This past August, officers held a Charity Run to help his family in his time of need. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bill’s family.
