Roads in Rock Creek Park, Fort Dupont, and Anacostia Park Will be Closed to Vehicles (COVID)

The National Park Service (NPS), after consultations with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, has decided to close some roads and parking areas in Rock Creek Park, Anacostia Park, and Fort Dupont Park to vehicle traffic. The closures will increase the space available for citizens to exercise while adhering to social distancing guidelines. For more information, read Mayor Bowser’s press release below:

Mayor Bowser and the National Park Service Announce Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park and Roads in Fort Dupont and Anacostia Park Will Close to Vehicle Traffic

(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Bowser announced that the National Park Service (NPS) and the United States Park Police (USPP) will close Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park and roads in Anacostia Park and Fort Dupont Park to vehicle traffic so that residents can access these roads for essential exercise.
