Message from the new USPPFOP Chairman to the Membership

Dear Members,

Happy new year, and I hope everyone had a great holiday season. On January 2, 2018, I was sworn in as Chairman. I want to thank you all for your support, and ensure I will strive to represent the membership to the best of my abilities. Undoubtedly, we have our work cut out for us but I am confident the newly elected executive board has your best interests at heart.

I’d like to thank Ian Glick for all his hard work and dedication the last eight years. Ian faced many challenges, and worked tirelessly to represent the membership. Thankfully, Ian will remain on the executive board, and will continue to be an asset to the union and our membership.

We are faced with some difficult times ahead, as the new administration has targeted federal employee pensions and benefits. I will do everything in my power to collaborate with our partners in other unions, as well as the National FOP, and face this challenge head on to protect our retirement and benefits. I strive to open up lines of communication between the union and the membership, and promote transparency. I look forward to the challenges ahead and wish you all a happy, healthy, and safe new year.

Fraternally,

Mike Shalton

Chairman USPPFOP
